Wednesday Partnership: On avoiding conflict, the decade-mindset and the power of becoming an ‘ingredient partner’
Welcome to Partnership Wednesday! Here are 3 ideas from me and 1 question for you to consider this week to create partnerships you never thought possible, plus additional insight from the Partnership+ podcast.
3 IDEAS FROM ME
I.
Think of every new business partnership as if it were to last a decade. While there is still the need to fast-track the first win, a future-decade mindset helps to extend the time horizon to surface questions like what do we need to see to build rock-solid confidence in this partnership in the first two years? and, when this partnership gains traction, how could our partner become a core ingredient to our business?
II.
There is almost never a need for conflict resolution when the parties in a partnership meet fortnightly.
III.
ASICs, Kathmandu, Nike, Patagonia, Scarpa and The North Face have one thing in common. They use GorTex’s water resistant material in their products. GorTex has three core capabilities: Research & Development,. Manufacturing and Partnerships, and they are known as one of the world’s leading ingredient brands.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
How many ways can you generate revenue from your partnerships?
P.S. If the answer is only one, we should talk.
