Why showing up with a blank page is a mistake and the inner circle at partnership organisations
Happy Partnership Wednesday!
Exciting news, the first Partnership Plus Ask Me Anything (AMA) episode co-hosted with Executive Coach and my good friend Melissa Rosenthal is now available! Here it is on Youtube and wherever you get your podcasts. And here are 3 ideas from me and 1 question for you to create partnerships you never thought possible.
3 IDEAS FROM ME
I.
Meetings are an opportunity to progress ideas but walking into a new partner meeting with a blank piece of paper is the same as a dream without a goal. It’s still a dream.
II.
The likelihood of partnership dramatically increases when a partner understands your intention to move their organisation forward through a short presentation that demonstrates your interest and logic for building a relationship.
III.
An ‘Intent Deck’ is a short, five-slide presentation designed to help you express two important ideas; How you will create value for them and how that value will benefit you and your organisation. You can find the (free) Intent Deck template in Tactic 3 of my Intro to Partnerships course. Start the course here.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
It’s natural for people to come and go in organisations however these changes can be daunting if a person leaving is an advocate or sponsor of your work. Creating a web of relationships at your partner organisation(s) can help build redundancy or a backup system in the relationship. So here’s this week’s question for you:
If your go-to relationship at your partner organisation left, who would you contact to keep the partnership on track?
Pro-Tip: There should be at least two people
