The golden rule of partnerships and the value of asking for help

Happy Partnership Wednesday!

Here are 3 ideas from me and 1 question for you to consider this week to create partnerships you never thought possible.

3 IDEAS FROM ME

I.

THE golden rule of partnerships is no surprises.

II.

An unexpected event that could change the trajectory or intended outcome of a partnership is best communicated early and in a way that promotes deliberation first, and decisions second.

III.

Deliberation is a careful movement or thought. When an unexpected event in a partnership comes up, and as part of communicating what has happened, prepare three realistic and forward-looking scenarios that can be discussed with your partner. This promotes deliberation, helps partners engage in the issue and importantly, experience you acting on the front foot. While decisions can be made in the same meeting, providing permission for your partner organisation (and you) to reflect before making a decision on the path forward often makes for a better outcome.

1 QUESTION FOR YOU

There is a good chance you know what you love and what you’re good at. This means you might also know the areas in which you could do with some help. So in the context of partnerships (and business), here’s this week’s question:

What is one partnership or business related item for which you need help?

If it’s related to partnerships, hit me up, I may be able to help.

For other business related help, a freelancer may be the way to go. I have sought help with over 100 tasks on Fiverr.com. One of my most recent asks for help was answered by Naim who helped create the incredible artwork for my Partnership Plus podcast. Highly recommend Fiverr.com, and I hope it helps you too!
