On why ‘doing it all yourself’ can send you backwards
Happy Partnership Wednesday!
Here are 3 ideas from me and 1 question for you to consider this week to create partnerships you never thought possible.
3 IDEAS FROM ME
I.
Entrepreneurial organisations, no matter their size or age, often hold a ‘we can manage it all’ mentality. This belief is anchored deep in their DNA because in the beginning, a lack of resources meant there was no choice but to do everything themselves.
II.
The risk to businesses ‘doing it all themselves’ is the tendency to focus more on what they know (and the creation of echo-chambers that magnify biases) and less on who they serve. This becomes especially costly when businesses attempt innovation.
III.
The key to unlocking the benefits of partnering and relieving the pressure of ‘doing it all yourself’ is knowing how to achieve unshakable trust with partners. I cover this in this free course.
1 QUESTION FOR YOU
Think of a time when you thought’ ‘It will be cheaper to do it myself’. Now recall the outcome of that decision.
For the sake of this week’s question, let’s imagine you have unlimited resources (never true but fun to imagine).
What job would you have another person or business do to create the outcome you really want (now that it won’t be cheaper if you do it yourself)?
